History[]

Originally started as a joke between the author and their friends regarding the nature of South-East Asian black magic practicioners, eventually the concept involved into a weekly TTRPG session. The setting is chosen to be in Indonesia due to a number of players being from the region.

The name Santet Kaisen came from a joke regarding the use of the Indonesian setting of the story and the use of traditional Indonesian black magic in the story.

Inspirations[]

Inspirations for the campaign and the characters often come from friends of the people in the campaign/project or the media that the members watch and read. A main source of inspiration is the folktales and urban legends of the archipelago, specifically Javanese stories as well as urban legends around the Jakarta and Tangerang area sourced from people around that area.
